Eight is a rowing apparel brand, they were looking at re-branding from their former name (Montague) to 'Eight' and upgrading their logo along with it. We looked at simplifying the logo to make a stronger mark and work at all sizes that would be needed.
By taking away all complex elements of the logo It created a much more memorable mark and one that was more symbolic of a rowing eight. As well as the mark we also upgraded the typeface to a more modern style that will age well with the brand. We adjusted the colours to be more representative of the brand's English heritage creating a take on the union jack palette.
